Dancing In the Shadows

[“That is when everything
crumbled. The sea carried a thick and ardent breath. It seemed to me that the
sky opened on all its length to let rain fire. All my being tensed and my hand
gripped the gun. The trigger gave way, I touched the polished center of the grip
and that’s when, in the astounding sound that all started. I shook off the
sweat of the sun. I understood I had broken the equilibrium of the day, the
exceptional silence of a beach where I had been happy. So, I shot four more
time into an inert corpse where the bullets disappeared without seeming to. And
it was like four short knocks that I made on the door to despair.”
Albert Camus, The Stranger. 1942]
Snow billowed in thick clouds around the solitary passerby. Dark grey clouds loomed above, their frozen tears falling in an impenetrable white curtain. The soft crunch of footsteps echoed throughout the empty street. Somewhere across town, church bells shattered the heavy silence with three somber rings. “Like four short knocks on the door to Despair...” the lonely wanderer thought, remembering a passage from his book. He would have almost laughed at the irony of it all. Instead a fit of coughing forced him to stop and support himself with a nearby tree with an arm. “Curses. This is only getting worse... I won’t last much longer...” After a few minutes he pushed himself away from the tree with a loud grunt. He wrapped his heavy coat tighter about him, trying to keep the cold air from snaking its way onto his skin. He ignored the sharp pains running through his left arm and shoulder with his every move and resumed his slow walking. He did not worry about the deep red marks that trailed behind him. The snow would soon enough cover them... The wind blew relentlessly around him, causing his weakened body to sway dangerously. Making his way through this deep white carpet of snow was becoming increasingly difficult. He was cold and tired, his body barely able to move an inch. But he had to keep on moving. He couldn’t remember where he was going anymore, yet he still moved as if pulled by an invisible thread. And so he kept going. Lift one foot... and the next... lift one foot... and... “Shit.” His foot slipped on a thick sheet of ice, sending him crashing to the ground. He tried to catch himself but his body was moving in slow motion. He opened his mouth in a desperate attempt to call out, but all that escaped his dry throat was single hoarse cry. The cold hard ice slammed into his skull with a thud and everything went black.
“Tell me Gray, when does this stupid snow end?” He sighed and turned away from the window. “I swear, I’ve never seen so much snow! Feels like someone is trying to bury us in it!”
A small laugh answered his words. Across the room sat a young man with long golden hair. “I’m sorry Kain, but this is only the beginning.” An apologetic smiled graced his face.
Kain sighed again and shook his head. “I don’t understand why anyone would like to live up here!”
Gray spread out his hands in a helpless gesture. “I don’t know, this place must have its charms. Why else would all these people live here?”
Kain ran a hand through his thick brown hair and shrugged “I don’t know; maybe they all got re-assigned to this god-forsaken place...”
His companion grinned at those words, recognizing Kain’s short temper. “Aww come on, Kain. It’s not for long. We’ll be gone by the end of the week.” The tall man started crossing the room mumbling about how long a week was. As he heard those words, Gray pouted and leaned back into the couch. “You sound like you’re really not looking forward to spending a week up here with me...”
Kain reached his friend and leaned over him, a smile dancing on his face. “Now now, I never said that. I said I don’t want to spend a week feeling this cold.”
Two slim arms wrapped themselves around his neck, pulling him closer. “Then let me warm you up...”
Kain raised an eyebrow as a playful grin curled his lips. “Oh?” He leaned closer to the blond haired man, their lips barely touching. “How do you plan on doing that?”
“I’ll think of something...” He gently kissed Kain’s soft lips, pulling his lover down with him onto the couch.
A flash of warmth flooded Kain as his lover’s tongue slipped into his mouth. A soft moan escaped his lips as their tongues danced together. When they finally pulled apart, he admired his lover’s face, the gentle curve of his cheeks, the deep blue eyes, the mischievous smile. “Gray...” he whispered softly before leaning for another hungry kiss. He felt the young man wrap his arms around him, pulling them closer. And then a loud knock interrupted both of them. Try as they might, the inconsiderate visitor could not be ignored. Kain sighed heavily, his head collapsing unto Gray’s chest. “What now?” He mumbled angrily He felt the chest below him rise and fall in a soft sigh before a soft hand ran through his hair.
“I know... but we have too...” Reluctantly the pair made their way to their feet, Kain walking back towards the window still mumbling. Gray opened the door with an exasperated smile that quickly vanished. “Captain!” He quickly moved aside and let the older man walk in. “What brings you here on this lovely afternoon?”
The captain, a short man in his early 50s, quickly got rid of his coat and sat down on the couch. “I have your assignment,” he said simply. He obviously was not happy about having to walk through all this snow for this.
Kain turned around and leaned against the wall. “And that required you to walk all the way over here? I think I’m flattered.” His tone was light-hearted but his black eyes were serious. Gray took a seat in a nearby chair and looked at the captain with similar eyes.
The old man sighed. “I couldn’t trust the phones, you know that.” He pulled out a folder and handed it to Gray. “All the information is in there. It’s tomorrow night.”
Gray flipped through the file and shook his head, handing it to his partner. “Not much info in here...”
“I know. But you will have to do with this.” He stood up and got his coat. Kain tossed the folder on the table with a grunt and turned back to the window. The captain put his coat on, his eyes never leaving the pair. “I wish you both luck. And please, be careful.”
Kain turned around with a sly grin. “Awww you’re worried about us?”
The old man shook his head in resignation. “Good night Kain.” He nodded towards Gray. “Gray.” And with that he left the pair and wandered back out into the storming night. Silence fell on the room as the both men considered their future assignment.
Kain mumbled something before reaching for a book that had been carelessly disposed of. He glanced at the cover and smiled as he flipped it open. His friend noticed his movements and silently made his way towards him. Facing the window, Kain started reading a passage previously marked off, his deep voice softly breaking the silence. “That is when everything crumbled. The sea carried a thick and ardent breath.” Gray wrapped his arms around his lover and gently licked his neck. Kain felt hot breath caress his neck and suppressed a small shiver. “Hmmm... It seemed to me that the sky opened on all its length to let rain fire...” he continued his narrative, trying to ignore the soft kisses and nibbles on his neck. An unusual shine appeared in Gray’s eyes as he slowly ran his hands down Kain’s chest. His soft finger gently pulled apart the buttons on his shirt, lingering softly on his now exposed chest. “...All my being tensed and my hand gripped the gun...” Kain’s voice was slowly loosing its steadiness as soft hands slowly wound their way down his chest. “The trigger gave way, I touched the polished center of the grip...” Gray smirked and reached inside the young man’s now unbuttoned pants. He ran his fingers teasingly along the growing length and was quickly rewarded by a long moan. Kain closed his eyes, his breath quickly accelerating, his book threatening to fall to the ground as Gray started to slowly massage his swollen manhood.
“Keep reading, Kain...” a soft voice whispered in his ear.
Kain tried to open his eyes but his lover’s touch was quickly overrunning his senses. He whimpered softly as he felt Gray’s finger pull away and quickly glanced back into his book. A small curse escaped his lips as he desperately tried to find his line. “Gray...” He swallowed hard and tried to steady himself. “And that’s when...” His voice was nothing more than a hoarse whisper. He cried out as he felt Gray resume his stroking “...in the astounding... sound...” He involuntarily thrust his hips into the young man’s hand, wanting to accelerate the friction. He could feel Gray’s hard on rubbing against him and quickly lost control. “Ahhhh... that all... started...”
Dawn found the two young men sleeping soundly in each other’s arms. Outside the snow had reluctantly stopped, threatening to return at any moment. Black eyes slowly blinked open, soon admiring the wonderful bare figure sleeping peacefully by his side. Kain sighed softly and brushed away a strand of golden hair. Then, taking care not to wake up his sleeping lover, Kain gently slipped out of bed and started searching for his discarded clothes. After a few minutes, he walked out the bedroom towards the window and smiled as he saw his shirt lying on the floor. He reached for it when he noticed his book under it. He picked up the book and flipped through the pages. Having found his passage he cleared his throat and finished his passage. “I shook off the sweat of the sun. I understood I had broken the equilibrium of the day, the exceptional silence of a beach where I had been happy. So, I shot four more time into an inert corpse where the bullets disappeared without seeming to. And it was like four sharp knocks that I made on the door to despair.” He sighed and closed the book. A small sound made him turn his head towards the doorframe. He smiled as Gray stood there, a long robe thrown carelessly over his shoulders. They stared at each other for a while, Kain standing by the window, his lean muscles shaping his exposed chest, Gray leaning against the doorframe, his long golden hair framing his soft smiling face.
“Good morning,” Gray quietly said in his clear voice. He walked up to his lover and deposited a small kiss on his lips.
Kain embraced the graceful body in front of him and grinned. “Sleep well?”
“Well enough,” he answered with a small laugh. “Your story woke me up...” he added, his voice turning slightly pensive “You don’t like Camus?” Blue eyes looked up, a hint of worry momentarily visible in their depths.
“You know that’s not true...”
“Kain...” Gray sighed and leaned his head against the broad chest. “Don’t say it...”
“I’ll say whatever I want!” Kain caught his rising temper and hugged the young man closer. “I don’t want you to go tonight.”
“I know,” Gray answered softly.
“I’m serious. You don’t know these guys! You have no idea what they can do to you...You could get hurt and…” A pair of fingers silenced his lips.
“I know Kain. I don’t want to do it either.” Steel flashed in his eyes. “But don’t ever think I would let them hurt me on purpose.”
Kain sighed heavily and released his lover. He walked towards the bathroom, intent on taking a shower. “But why do you have to be their whore?” he asked resentfully before slamming the door behind him.
Gray looked out to the skies, watching a handful of snowflakes break free from the heavy clouds. “Just because...”
(What is this mysterious assignment? What is this about Gray being a whore? Who was the mysterious person who collapsed in the snow? Why was the yaoi scene cut short? The answer to some of these and more questions in the next segment!)
Snow was falling heavily now, drawn like a thick white curtain over the world. A young man wearing a brand new suit under a heavy wool coat was desperately trying to keep his hands warm. In long strides he crossed an empty street and knocked loudly on a metal door. While patiently waiting for someone to open, his black eyes kept a close watch of the tall building in front of him. It was nothing more than a recently renovated warehouse. On the outside rusty metal and faded signs kept the building from standing out. The inside however...If only the passersby knew what was happening inside... Kain shook his head, erasing the thoughts from his mind. This was definitely not the time to loose focus. His sense snapped to awareness as a pair of eyes stared at him through an opening in the door.
“Yes?” A thick voice asked.
“It’s K. I came looking for my Sun,” he answered, a sly grin on his face.
The eyes looked at him carefully a moment longer before disappearing. Seconds later the sound of a latch being drawn resonated in the cold night. The door swung open and in the dim light Kain could see a large man displaying his automatic weapon in silent threat. “Come on in, we’ve been waiting for you.” Kain shrugged ever so lightly and stepped inside. He let himself be quickly searched by the guard, a small insolent smile never leaving his face. With a small grunt, the guard guided him down a dark and cold corridor. Occasionally small sounds reached their ears, laughter and cheerful voices, small cries of pain - and pleasure. He carefully hid his disgust as they entered in a well-lit room. About a dozen people were in the room: the guests, all distinguished businessmen wearing expensive Armani suits, and the hosts, all able young men wearing little or less clothing. Two of the young men walked up to him, one helping him out of coat, and one offering some champagne. Kain smiled amicably to his helpers and, carefully sipping his drink, made his way to the center of the room where a small group had been formed. There he found his host, an older man wearing a striking kimono. The man raised his glass as he approached, pushing some of the young men off himself.
“K! My dear friend, where have you been? The party started without you” He had an easy smile but his eyes were as always alert and piercing. “I’ll never understand what you people like about all this snow...”
Kain bowed his head lightly in apology. “But regardless I’m here now right?” He tilted his glass towards the man and grinned.
The man looked at him as he finished his glass. He then broke in an infectious laugh and tossed his empty glass away “Right you are. Now come, come my friend, someone has been waiting for you.” He rose in a graceful motion and made his way towards stairs conveniently hidden in a corner. Kain followed him, automatically noticing the pair of guards that was escorting them. The staircase opened into another large dimly lit corridor. Shadows danced across the vast empty area as the small group made their way towards a door. Kain took a deep breath, preparing himself for whatever sight rested behind the door and nodded to his host. Grinning slightly, the old man opened the door and invited Kain in. “K, I would like to introduce your Sun.”
Bright light flooded the hallway as the group entered the room, the door closing silently behind them. A large bed covered in pillows and other draperies consisted of the centerpiece of this otherwise bare room. Lying lazily on the bed, barely wearing a light blue kimono was a stunning young man with golden hair: Sun. The young man raised his head towards his visitors, tendrils of gold veiling his azure eyes. Kain felt his heart accelerate as the blue eyes looked at him intently, as though he was the one being sized up. He grinned and held the gaze, painfully aware that no flash of recognition flashed in those familiar eyes. “Damnit Gray.... Why do you have to be so good at this?” Kain thought with a hint of bitterness and envy. A small cough by his side reminded him they were not alone. He smiled automatically and turned towards his host.
“I take it K, that you like?” The old crossed his arms across his chest and smiled broadly at the youth. His eyes wandered between Kain and Gray before finally settling back on his client.
“Yes, you can say that…” Kain almost laughed and looked back towards the golden haired man. With feline grace, Gray slipped off the bed and walked towards Kain and the others. He stopped short of touching him and smiled seductively, almost waiting for his orders.
The old man walked up to Gray and gently caressed his cheek. “My dear Sun, as soon as we finish our little paperwork...” He glanced at Kain and smiled, his eyes deadly serious, and continued in an almost sad tone. “This man here will be your new Master...” His fingers lingered a moment longer on the soft hair before abruptly turning around and facing the brown haired man. “So shall we K?”
Just as Kain was about to answer a loud knocking was heard against the door, followed by muffled sounds and a high-pitched cry. A flash of anger crossed the old man’s face as he waved one of the guards towards the door. The guard, a strong man who moved with surprising fluidity, nodded and opened the door, his gun ready to fire. He quickly stepped aside and let a big guard in. Kain raised an eyebrow as he recognized this evening’s doorman. He did not let his face react anymore when he noticed that the man was holding a feisty young boy. “Let me go you bastards!” The young boy, with his ripped jeans and his wild black hair didn’t look more than 16 yrs old. Yet for all his youth and strength he could not get away from the iron grip that held him.
“Well well, what do we have here?” The old man’s voice was just as deadly as his smile.
“Found him in the back. Was sneaking ‘round this one...” The big guard answered as he pushed the boy hard unto the floor. The teenager had barely touched the floor that he tried to jump away. But his movements were easily predicted and a strong kick caught him square in the chest. He crashed helplessly to the ground, doubling over in pain. Between his coughs he managed to utter a long string of curses directed to his captors. Kain mentally begged the kid to shut up and behave, knowing full well things would get out of hand, but also fully aware that there was nothing he could do about it. Not with Gray in such a position, and not without a weapon. The short flash of emotions that crossed Gray’s face indicated his partner harbored similar thoughts.
The old man turned towards Kain and smiled a small businesslike smile. “Tell me K, you wouldn’t be interested in wild, black haired boys now would you?”
“No thanks.” Kain managed to keep most of his disgust out of his voice, but not enough to prevent the old man to raise an eyebrow questioningly. Kain turned and smiled at Gray and added calmly. “I only like gold...” He looked back towards the kid and finished in a cold tone, “Not charcoal.” Hateful green eyes looked up towards him, and Kain felt his heart twist as he himself looked back with cold disdainful eyes.
A loud laugh broke off their gaze. The old man patted Kain amicably on the shoulder, still half laughing. “Then my dear friend, you don’t mind if I train my new rogue first before we finish our business? You do understand, a man like me must seize his opportunities before they hmmm... run off?” While he asked on a friendly tone, the look in his eyes made it clear this was no question at all.
Gray looked away as Kain nodded his head lightly. “Of course not.” He answered, wanting with every fiber of his being to kill the man in front of him.
(Who is this unfortunate kid?
Why can’t Kain - or the scantly dressed Gray - help him? What exactly is
‘training’? Where did all the yaoi go? Did Kain just become Gray’s new Master?
More confusing storylines, a lot more violence and yes, some yaoi in the next
exciting episode!)
I need a life. :P
The old man smiled and opened his mouth to say something, but quickly decided against it. He looked at Kain and then paused his glance on Gray. Behind him the guards were picking up the kid and tossing him violently unto the bed. Kain twitched involuntarily as a hard punch bloodied the boy’s lip. “If you would forgive me, but I must ask you to leave.” A small apologetic smile was on his face “To apologize, Sun will show you to one of our rooms. Technically it’s against company policy, but I believe we can make an exception.” He winked, a sly smile on his face.
Kain forced himself to smile and was grateful when Sun silently took his arm and led him out of the room. “Thank you sir,” he called out as they both exited the room. He dared not look over his shoulder, knowing full well what he would see. He could hear the pleading cries of the kid slowly disappear as the door closed behind them.
They walked silently across the hall, passing the staircase and heading towards a small discreet door. Kain had his fist clenched tight, his nails digging into his palm. By his side, Gray held his arm almost as tight. He took a shaky breath and opened the door, leading his partner inside a small room. Just like the other room, the furniture consisted mostly of a large bed and its night table. Kain’s ever-watchful eyes quickly noticed a small walking closet conveniently hidden to their left. He could easily guess what kind of items were hidden in there, but he was not anxious to check which ones in particular. Kain slipped out of his lover’s hold and closed the door behind them. “God damnit! why!? why? WHY!” He shouted and slammed his fist repeatedly into the hard wooden door.
“Kain...” The soft voice whispered close to him. A pair of slim hands caught his fist with surprising strength. Kain swirled around violently, his anger at everything and everyone making him lash out on the one person he loved the most. Gray merely moved out the way, watching as his partner tripped over himself. He sighed softly and walked up slowly to Kain, helping him back up on his feet and sitting them both unto the bed.
“It’s just not fair...” Kain’s voice was barely above that of a whisper.
“I know...but there’s nothing we can do about it.” Gray put his hand over Kain’s and squeezed it. “We have to stay here and wait for them...”
Kain laughed, a dark bitter laugh and turned his dark gaze towards Gray. “Of course... Sun. You should know...”
Gray’s eyes turned harder as he opened his mouth to retort. Instead he stood up proudly and looked at his lover - nay master. “Hai... I should know... Master,” he said in a calm voice, his piercing gaze never leaving Kain. Kain flinched as he heard the word and looked up to meet the blue eyes. He admired the figure in front of him, the golden hair framing that beautiful face, the kimono seductively revealing small hints of ivory skin, the twin pair of blue reflecting pools under those long lashes.
Ever so slowly, a small smirk curved his lips as a thought bloomed in his mind. “Well then...my dear Sun... What do you propose we do in the meantime?”
A light shimmered in Gray’s eyes as he put on his best seductive smile. “I am at your command Master.”
“Then...” Kain reached for the blue kimono and pulled his lover down to him, catching his lips in a deep kiss before pulling back “undress me...” he whispered hotly in the youth’s ear.
“Yes, Master...” The soft whisper caressed his ear, followed by a warm wet touch, the whole threatening to make his eyes close shut. A pair of slim hands brushed against him, slipping his suit off his shoulder. Kain could feel his lover progressively move his body closer until he was straddling his laps. Kain looked at the golden haired beauty in front of him and smiled, his heartbeat accelerating in anticipation. Gray could feel the pair of hungry eyes drinking in his body and smiled sensually. His agile fingers trailed softly down Kain’s cheekbone and down his neck, making the body underneath him shiver lightly. He slowly undid the silk tie, his blue eyes focused on the face in front of him, before loosely wrapping the long piece of cloth around his neck. Kain raised a curious eyebrow as he watched Gray slowly undress him but didn’t say a word. His curious thoughts were quickly shattered as Gray leaned closer to him. His eyes fluttered shut as a warm tongue slowly - teasingly - ran down his neck. Gray shifted his body lightly, moving closer to the other man. Kain felt something brush against his groin and it did not take long for him to remember that, underneath that silky kimono, the young man was fully naked. The thought made his blood boil as he felt another deliberate brush. Gray smiled as he saw Kain’s lips slowly parting, his breath coming quicker. He nibbled softly on the exposed neck, his fingers swiftly unbuttoning his shirt. He slowly rolled his hip, moaning in Kain’s neck as he rubbed against the other man’s growing excitement. Pleasure flared through his body as he felt Kain move his hips in response, wanting - needing more of contact. Gray forced a shaky breath out, willing himself not to rush things, his mind intent on obeying his order. He ran his hand down Kain’s chest, his nails digging in lightly on the soft skin, and slipped the white shirt completely off. Beneath him, the other man suddenly gasped when he felt sharp nails graze over a nipple. Gray smiled, watching his lover’s face thrown back, his lips opened in a long moan, and teased the sensitive nub with his fingers. Kain felt his body burning dangerously hot as his nipple was slowly tortured. Soft feathery touches that made his body shiver with desire were soon followed by sharp painful pinches that made his gasp for more. He thought nothing could make this torture any sweeter when he suddenly felt a hot mouth close in on his now erect nipple. “Ahhh!...Yes...more...” He was being pushed down unto the bed now, the warm body over him slowly moving lower, deliberately brushing against him. His sense were ablaze now, the golden haired man never giving him an instant of reprise as he could feel his wet tongue slipping in and out of his navel, tracing sensuous patterns on his taut stomach. The bulge in his pants was starting to feel painfully constrained and he longed to have all his clothes off. He could feel Gray’s soft fingers trailing down his body, caressing, teasing. He choked back a long cry when they brushed over his tight pants almost questioningly. “Unn!” Kain growled, bucking his hips foward in silent demand. Gray’s lips moved over the fabric, softly kissing it. “Grayyy...” Kain voiced quietly, this wonderful torture driving him wild. Gray finally started undoing the man’s pants, slowly slipping the clothes off. He slowly kissed down the exposed flesh, carefully avoiding the man’s erect member. He licked up Kain’s inner thigh and almost moaned when he felt the deep shudder course through the other man’s body. Reluctantly he pulled back and looked down at Kain, fully naked now, his chest rising and falling heavily. Kain closed his eyes and swallowed hard, trying to steady his voice. He finally opened his eyes and pulled himself up, his hands reaching for the blue kimono in front of him. He pulled its owner closer and gave him a hungry kiss, both men soon moaning as their tongues danced with each other. Kain broke the kiss and his lips curled in a smile as he pulled on the sash wrapped around the kimono. He licked his lips as the soft fabric slipped off his lover, revealing his beautifully sculpted body. “Now... pleasure me...” His eyes shone with lust as he commanded, in a slow, low voice. Gray felt his body shiver at the sound. He moved closer to the other man, close enough for their manhood to barely brush each other. He closed his eyes and reached for the silk cloth still wrapped loosely around his neck. He gently pulled on the fabric, its soft touch around his neck as it slipped off making him moan with pleasure. He ran the silky fabric down his chest, small moans escaping him as he brushed against his nipples. He could hear Kain’s breath quickly accelerating and could feel the hungry eyes admiring him. The simple thought drove him wild with desire as his fingers slowly moved lower on his body, their touch like fire. Kain bit his lips, suppressing the urge to grab the man in front of him. His eyes were completely mesmerized by the erotic sight in front of him. He lost his breath as he watched the golden-haired god in front of him slowly wrap the red tie around his manhood. He suddenly gasped, his eyes flying shut, as Gray continued wrapping the silky cloth around his own manhood. His entire body shuddered at he realized they were now both tied by the fabric. He barely moved his hips, wanting to move closer to his lover. Both men suddenly cried out as the silky fabric barely shifted on their members, the feathery touch sending unbearable flashes of pure pleasure across them. Gray made a sound between a moan and a whimper as he slowly pulled on the tie, the light touch becoming unbearable. His eyes suddenly flew open as a hand roughly grabbed his and yanked the fabric off. He cried out, feeling as though he had just been burned by soft petals. He clenched the hand, desperately willing himself not to come then and there. “I...want you...” The husky voice was so close to him. He leaned over his lover, catching his lips in a deep passionate kiss, his hand reached for the nearby night table. Kain answered his kiss eagerly, his hands caressing down his back, barely aware of what Gray was doing. Gray pulled back and Kain noticed a small tube in his hand. He watched raptly as Gray squeezed the clear gel out of the tube and slowly coated his own manhood. He barely had time to register that fact when he felt Gray’s slick manhood slide against his, generously coating him with the lube. “Gray... now...” He wasn’t going to be able to resist this any longer. He reached for the slim hips in front of him and was a bit surprised to see Gray was already in place, his opening brushing against the tip of Kain’s hard on. Kain opened his mouth to protest by was soon lost in a deep cry as he felt a tight heat encasing him. Gray felt as though every inch of his body was on the verge of exploding. He panted heavily, forcing himself to relax to the sudden pain inside him. Within seconds, he slowly started moving his body up and down his lover’s length, beads of sweat rolling down his face. It did not take long for Kain to suddenly flip him on his back. He wrapped himself around his lover, urging him to thrust into him deeper and faster. “Yes... unnn... more!” Gray’s body was afire, his senses overloaded as Kain pounded into him madly. He felt a rough hand suddenly grab his slick member and start stroking him, the sensation hurling him overboard. “Come... come for me,” a deep voice called out for him.
“Aahhhh!” Gray arched his back, his body suddenly obeying his lover’s words. Waves of pleasures shot through him as his seeds burst out of him, silky threads splashing on their chests. A loud cry, deep from within, resounded in the room as Kain was precipitated over the edge, his seeds slipping inside his lover. Both men collapsed on each other, spasms of pleasure still coursing through them both as they struggled to catch their breath. Gray ran a shaky hand through his lover’s hair and smiled. A pair of black eyes gazed softly at him as Kain lovingly kissed him. A happy sigh escaped him as he kissed his lover back. Both men, soon drifted into a short sleep, their bodies nestled together, all their fears and worries having disappeared for the moment.
(Well this chapter was just for the yaoi wasn’t it? Why is Gray so damn sexy? Who wants one? What is going to happen next? Do you really want to know? A lot of violence, no more yaoi, and far from enjoyable moments are coming up, so get ready for it. The beginning of the end coming in the next episode! You sure you want it?)
A short respite was granted to the sleeping pair before an ominous ringing sound started echoing through the room. The first ring made the two men jump, alertness immediately flooding their senses in an automatic reflex honed by the years. They quickly located a small stylish looking phone by the time the second ring died off. Both men looked at each other, Gray shrugging lightly. He picked up the receiver after the fourth ring and calmly handed it to his partner.
“Four knocks on the door to hell...” Kain absently thought as he took the receiver. “Yes?” He asked cautiously, a hint of frustration discernable in his voice.
“The Boss wants to see you in half an hour.”
“I hope he doesn’t mind the smell then,” he answered in a slightly bored yet annoyed tone. “...Don’t be late.” The line suddenly went dead.
“Whatever...” Kain slammed the receiver back down and looked around for Gray. “What are you doing?” He asked as he watched Gray slip through the doors of the walking closet. It didn’t take long for the younger man to walk back out, the expression on his face enough to make Kain burst into a welcome laugh. Gray coughed lightly, keeping the closet safely behind him, and smiled at the other man.
“You know Kain, they have kimonos in there. Would you like...?” He resisted the urge to laugh himself as Kain glared at him, mouthing what would be a growled, “No Way.” He shrugged and walked back towards the bed and slipped his kimono back on after quickly wiping himself clean. A few minutes later both were dressed once again, the blue kimono tied neatly around Gray’s slim body, Kain looking every inch the businessman having only forgone his tie.
Gray opened the door and bowed lightly, letting the other pass. “After you Master.” Kain nodded grimly and the pair headed back down the dark hallway in a thickening silence. He knocked on the door once and entered, steadying himself for the sight he feared awaited them inside.
“K! I’m not even going to ask if you had a good time” The older man winked knowingly, making Kain long to break that sly looking smile off his face.
“I thank you for it,” he smiled and bowed his head. As he straightened, his dark eyes scanned the room. A small intake of breath behind him was the only indication Gray had noticed. The young boy laid sprawled naked on the bed, small, matted patches of dried blood in his hair, dark and painful bruises on his body. His eyes were shut, the trace of fresh tears still visible, his lips were parted as he struggled to get his breath back. By his side, a tall strong man was buckling his pants back on when he noticed Kain and his friend. He glanced over his shoulder with a grin. “Oh, did not notice you were there,” his look clearly said.
Kain clenched his fist, his anger boiling in him. He quickly relaxed his hand, but not fast enough for his movement to go unnoticed. “Oh? Regretting not taking the charcoal, Mr. Kain?” Kain turned around to look at the old man, a look of surprise and indignation on his face. His heart was quickly accelerating, an ominous feeling settling on him with a chill.
“What did you just say?”
“Oh come on Mr. Kain...” The old man passed by him, walking straight towards Gray. “My dear...Gray was it?” He caressed the young man’s cheek “If I had known you were so skilled...” he mused softly to himself. An angry blush appeared on Gray’s otherwise expressionless face. The old man turned to face Kain again. “Did you really think I wouldn’t keep my eyes on you?” A mental image of the room quickly flashed in Kain’s mind. Yes they had both noticed the camera when they had entered the room, but that particular model didn’t record any sound. So how? A sinister smile appeared on the old man’s face as he watched understanding dawn on Kain. “Ah, so you aren’t as dumb as you seem.” Kain’s mind was rushing as he realized just how much trouble they were in now. There were three armed guards in addition to the Boss, one standing right behind Gray, the other next to the kid, the last was walking towards him. He did not doubt for an instant they would use the kid against him. He was defenseless and weaponless, and so was Gray. They themselves could make it, but he feared for the child. His frenzied thoughts were soon cut short as a gun was suddenly pointed at him, a short movement of the barrel indicating he should kneel.
“On your knees boy...” The guard said in a gruff voice. Reluctantly Kain fell to his knees, his hands behind his back, his eyes wandering between the two other guards. Both had drawn their weapons and displayed them in a silent threat to their hostages.
“Now Mr. Kain, we are going to have a little talk.” The old man wore a deadly smile, anger at the thought of betrayal dancing in his eyes.
“Fuck. You.” Kain said in a slow clear voice. A sudden flash of intense pain blurred his vision as the butt of the guard’s gun slammed hard unto his head. His body swayed dangerously forward and almost crashed to the ground. Somewhere in the background he thought he heard Gray’s voice briefly call out to him. His sense quickly returned and he glared dangerously at the old man, ignoring the smirking guard in front of him.
“Ooooh, such anger in those eyes...” His smile faded. “I don’t like you Mr. Kain. Consider this deal over.” He nodded at the guard, his thin smile returning. Kain heard the small click of the gun being armed and saw the barrel float closer to his face until it was aimed right between his eyes. He felt his heart calm down, his pulse steadying, his sense becoming sharper. A calm, unnerving smile appeared on his face as he watched the man in front of him. The guard’s face suddenly fell into a deep frown as he realized he was being mocked. “What’s so funny boy? That anxious to go to Hell?”
“Only after you...” In a flash, just as the guard started squeezing the trigger, Kain grabbed the man’s arm, twisting it violently around. A loud explosion resounded in the room as a large spray of blood shot into the air. The disbelieving eyes of the guard stared at Kain before he choked out a garbled cry. His wrist had broken, the barrel of his gun now pointed deep into his gut. A strong hand was wrapped around his, forcing him to pull the trigger again. A muted gunshot rose clear in the air as his body suddenly slouched forward. Kain calmly got to his feet, the gun now in his hand. He wore a grim smile as he pointed the gun towards the old man.
“Very nice, Mr. Kain.” The old man clapped his hands and then extended them to his side, keeping them in clear sight. He curved his lips in a curious smile. “But what do you plan on doing now?” He nodded his head towards Gray and the boy. On one side, Gray was standing calmly, a guard standing at a safe distance from him, his gun leveled to his chest. On the other, the guard held a fighting boy against him, his arm wrapped tight around the small neck. He pressed his gun against the boy’s temple, immediately silencing him.
“What do you mean? I’m taking what’s mine and walk out the front door.”
“Says who, you bastard!?” The guard holding the boy suddenly extended his gun towards Kain, his eyes blazing in fury.
“Is he always this rash?” Kain calmly asked the old man, barely sparring the guard a glance.
“Why you little! I should” his voice came to an abrupt stop when Kain’s dark gaze fell on him. He watched in silence as the man’s gun slowly turned to point straight at him. He automatically pulled the boy closer to him, using his body as a shield.
Kain smiled grimly at the motion. “I already told you...I hate charcoal.” The boy’s green eyes opened wide in shock and then anger. He lurched forward in furious rage. His mind barely registered the loud gunshot that followed, but he did suddenly feel his body flare into unbearable pain. The arm around his neck suddenly yanked him back hard and he felt his world go black.
The instant he saw the boy and the guard fall back in a spray of blood, Gray rushed towards the boss, ignoring the guard standing behind him. He was too preoccupied by Kain to notice his movements anyways. He heard two more gunshots followed by a grunt as a body fell limply to the ground. He silently prayed Kain was still alive and returned his attention to the old man. He saw him reach into his kimono and saw the faint shimmer of a metallic gun. He realized how grim his future was looking yet he did not slow his mad dash. He could still make it... His face became expressionless as the gun barrel was pointed straight at him and he closed his eyes when he heard the trigger give way. It took a second for him to realize something was wrong and he cautiously opened his eyes. The old man was standing in front of him, his finger frozen on the trigger, a shocked expression on his face. His body suddenly fell over to the side, a dark liquid seeping out of a perfect circle in his skull. “You’re never this rash Gray...” He heard his friend’s voice from behind him. He swirled around and his face grew hard as he saw Kain. He was barely managing to stand, his left arm hanging limply to his side, red blood dripping off his fingers. “I’m the one that’s supposed to be rash,” he added with a small smile. Gray was about to retort something when a small coughing sound caught their attention. “Take care of him Gray, we need to hurry...” Kain’s voice was hard as steel as he started walking towards the old man’s body. A pair of strong hands stopped his movements, making Kain look up into Gray’s blue eyes. He was about to repeat himself when Gray ripped his right sleeve off, wrapping it around the shoulder wound. The white fabric quickly started turning bright red. He helped Kain put his jacket on neatly, hiding the wound.
“We are gonna walk out of here like you said.” Gray smiled gratefully at his partner and added, “Thank you, Kain.” With that he hurried to the boy’s side. The boy was moaning softly, his hand pressed against his bloodied ribs, his entire body painted deep red. He barely felt the pair of hands gently moving him, but he did hear the soft voice.” You’re gonna be just fine kid.”
His green eyes opened and he gazed up at the face before him. Two heartbeats later he remembered where he was and pulled abruptly back, wincing in at the sharp pain. “Get away from me!” he shrieked. His cry soon died off as he bumped against a warm body. His eyes grew wide and his face was drained of color as he saw his guard. His face was frozen in his final grimace, a hole where his heart should be, the bed around him completely soaked in blood.
The boy stood frozen at the sight and barely shivered when Gray grabbed his shoulder and pulled him away. “Look at me kid,” he said in a calm commanding voice. “Let me check your wound.” He was holding a ripped piece of cloth and carefully wiped the wound clean, apologizing softly as the boy winced in pain. Gray sighed in relief as he looked at the long gash along the boy’s rib. The bullet had just grazed the rib, not penetrating deep enough to cause real danger. Kain was after all an excellent marksman and for all his rashness, he would never harm an innocent. “It’s not as bad as it looks. I can’t have it all cleaned now but this should do.” He started wrapping a clean sheet tightly around the boy’s chest and smiled apologetically. “You might have a scar though.”
“Well I for one am glad to hear that,” a deeper voice said from behind them. The boy suddenly glared at the tall man behind Gray. “This is all your fault! You and your...” He grunted as Gray tied the makeshift bandage tight.
Behind him a smile graced Kain’s face for half a second before a grim expression settled on it. He tossed the boy his discarded clothes. “Take your revenge later kid. For now get dressed so we can get the hell out of here.” The boy wordlessly obeyed, much to Kain’s surprise. He resisted the urge to smile when Gray leaned over the to help the boy get dressed, much to the kid’s embarrassment. “All right, we are just going to walk out of here, an owner and his two servants, got it?” He emphasized the last words, his eyes staring hard at the boy.
“Whatever...just get me outta here.” He avoided the eyes and added in an afterthought, “Master.”
Kain wanted to pat the boy’s shoulder and tell him everything would be all right but he found himself almost unable to move his left arm. He did not want to worry them anymore, even if he knew Gray had noticed already. Gray rose, helping the boy to his feet and nodded to his partner. “Shall we go then, Master? I fear delaying any longer.”
“Yes.” Kain had been wondering the same thing. Why hadn’t they all just barged right in? He did not doubt they had cameras and had seen everything... unless maybe? “Gray, you two rush out of the room when I turn my back, and for god’s sake, stay low!”
“The hell?” the boy asked, an unusual look of confusion on his face.
“Kain... what are you?” Gray started saying in a concerned voice.
“HOW DARE YOU DISOBEY ME!?” Kain boomed, his gun suddenly aimed straight at the pair. His expression made them take an involuntary step back, the boy cowering in Gray’s arms. Kain waved his gun, a strong silent command for them to move to the door. Both silently obeyed, Gray starting to understand what he was doing, the kid starting to hate this volatile man even more. Kain turned around, reaching for the gun now lying on the bed. As his face turned out of sight, Gray saw him mouth a single silent order: “Run.” He grabbed the kid with one hand, yanking him hard and opened the door with the other. Behind him he heard Kain call after them in mock anger. He heard the gun being armed and automatically ducked, pulling the protesting kid along with him. An instant later, splinters of the wooden doorframe flew above them as Kain emptied his gun in their direction.
Kain watched the two disappear into the dark hallway and sighed softly. Gray was smart enough to act their way out of this. He would run to them and tell them a madman was killing everyone up here, confirming what they saw on the cameras. Cameras he was praying did not record any sound. He sighed and started rummaging through the guard’s clothes for extra clips. His left arm was hanging limply to his side. He knew Gray had noticed how bad his wound as, and how much blood he had already lost. “This is bad Kain ol’ buddy...” he said in a whisper, a small smile curving his lips. He started towards the door, the dark hallway looming ominously in front of him. A chill swept over his body as he crossed it. It almost felt as though he was stepping through the doors of Hell. A sinister smile appeared on his face as he armed his gun. “Time to meet the Devil...”
(What just happened? Is Kain going to survive this mad suicidal plan? Will Gray and the boy really manage to escape to safety? The conclusion of this dramatic story next time!)
The snow was falling in thick blankets, trying to cover the night’s events. Standing in front of his window, his hand pressed against the cold glass, a young man stood watch. His long golden hair fell gracefully over his shoulders, small strands veiling his worried eyes. “It’s already been two hours...” A soft sound behind him made him glance over his shoulder, a small smile slowly appearing on his lips. “Feeling better?” In the doorway of the bedroom stood the young boy, his raven hair still dripping from his shower. His exposed chest showed a long gash on his left side, the wound caused by Kain’s bullet. Bruises and small cuts revealed how badly he had been beaten and abused. He tried to finish drying his hair with the towel in his right hand but dropped it when pain shot through him again. “He’s trying to act strong....just like him,” Gray thought with a smile as he reached for the towel. “Here, let me help.”
“Hey, it’s ok I...” His protests fell silent and he tried to look away as Gray dried his hair.
“You don’t have to act so tough you know.” Gray tossed the towel aside and brushed a few strands of the black hair back. “Now let’s have a look at that wound of yours.” In silence, Gray carefully cleaned the wound and wrapped it with fresh bandages. The boy looked away from the golden haired man, feeling slightly embarrassed at all the attention. “There that should do it. I’m afraid it will leave a scar though.”
“It’s ok; a souvenir.” His voice was cold as he tried to button up a clean shirt. Gray sighed and silently shook his head, walking back to the window. The silence stretched out for a few uncomfortable minutes before the boy started in a small unsure voice “You... hmm. You really like him don’t you?”
Gray turned around with a sad smile. “Hai, he is very important to me”
“...I hope he will be all right then,” he said, stuffing his hands in his pocket, his voice slightly muffled. He found himself unable to look straight at the man.
“You don’t like him do you?”
“No.”
“Why not?”
The kid glared at him, almost unbelieving the question. “He calls me charcoal and shoots at me!”
Gray busted out in laughter, quickly apologizing to the angry boy. “Tell me kid, what do you know about of diamonds?”
The boy stared at him and then raised an eyebrow as he answered carefully. “Beautiful expensive gems?”
“Yes, durable and unbreakable too, the strongest gem in the world.”
“Your point?”
“Do you know where they come from?”
“Mines?”
“Charcoal.”
After a long minute, the boy said, his voice loosing some of its confidence “He still shot me...” “You think you’d be alive if he really wanted to shoot you?” When the boy didn’t answer Gray sighed and put a hand on his shoulder. His soft voice broke the growing silence. “Don’t hate him, he was only trying to help you. He, neither of us, wanted tonight to happen to you... but neither of us could do anything. I’m sorry. And so is he...”
The boy looked away from the kind man, suddenly feeling very young, very weak and very dirty. He didn’t fight back when the older man hugged him, his warm arms wrapping gently around him. Small tears were threatening to appear in his eyes as he said in a small voice, “Thank you...” and then added in a breath, “I’m glad he killed them...” He felt the arms tighten around him before pulling back, sad blue eyes staring wordlessly into his. Gray had nothing to say to that. He was saddened to hear such words come from someone so young yet... yet how could he blame him after the night he just went through? He smiled, a soft sad smile, and ruffled the boy’s hair “He’s coming right?” the small unsure voice asked. “Don’t get him wrong, I still don’t like him... but...”
“I hope so kid... I really do.”
“Rick.”
Gray looked at him with a surprised expression. “What?”
“My name is Rick, stop calling me kid. I’m 15 you know.” The teenager looked back at him with all his wild defiance, almost making Gray laugh again.
“I’m Gray. Nice to meet you, Rick,” he replied warmly. After a few minutes, the two newly introduced friends walked towards a small kitchen, intent on filling their stomach, still waiting for their last friend to come home. Outside the clock struck three times, the loud rings echoing through the empty night. A solitary figure was braving the billowing snow in a desperate attempt to return to the warmth of his home.
